Whether to Use an Insurance Agent or Broker

Both Captive and Independent Agents can execute an insurance transaction from start to finish. A captive agent typically represents only on insurer, while an independent agent can work with multiple insurers.
Regardless of the type of insurance agent you utilize, they will help you to find the right insurance.

An Insurance Broker, by contrast, has access to numerous insurance carriers and choices. This helps them to help find the best fit for a potential client and their specific needs.
Insurance brokers can typically bundle different insurance products from different insurance companies, in order to ensure coverage is an optimal fit.
Brokers can also shop alternative insurance options upon an existing client's policy renewal.

In summary, when deciding to utilize an agent or broker its always best to ask about yourself "what are your specific insurance needs"?
It is also wise to approach an insurance agent and broker at the same time, in order to determine what works best for you.

Regardless of the service you choose, always ensure your policy has the best value and coverage for you.
